01What this covers
On the coast, title is everything, and often contested.

Land work divides into two halves that depend on each other: the transaction done carefully enough that it never becomes a dispute, and the dispute resolved when the paper trail was not. The firm does both, conveyancing from search to registration, and litigation over ownership, possession and boundaries before the Environment and Land Court.

  • Sale and purchase of land: searches, agreements, transfers and registration
  • Leases, charges and discharges
  • Sub-division, amalgamation and change of user
  • Adverse possession claims, brought and defended
  • Boundary, trespass and ownership disputes
  • Succession-related land transfers and transmissions
02How the firm works

From instruction to result.

01

Instruction & due diligence

Every land instruction begins with an official search and a reading of the title's history. A problem found at this stage costs a letter; found later, it costs a suit.

02

Documents or pleadings

For a transaction: the agreement, consents and transfer prepared and lodged. For a dispute: the plaint or defence filed with the survey and registry evidence the court will expect.

03

Registration or judgment

A transaction ends with your name on the register. A dispute ends with an order, and with that order enforced.
