Employment & Labour.

Unfair dismissal, wrongful termination and employment-contract disputes, for employees and for employers, before the Employment and Labour Relations Court.

Employment & Labour Relations CourtCourt of Appeal
01What this covers
Employment disputes turn on procedure as much as on the facts.

Kenyan employment law asks two questions of every termination: was there a valid reason, and was a fair procedure followed. The firm acts for employees who were let go without either, and for employers who need to get both right, in the hearing room and, better, before a dispute reaches it.

  • Unfair and wrongful termination claims under the Employment Act
  • Redundancy and restructuring, including the statutory notice and consultation steps
  • Disciplinary hearings: representation, and advice on conducting them properly
  • Employment contracts, confidentiality and restraint clauses
  • Unpaid wages, terminal dues and service pay
  • HR and labour consultancy for employers: policies, contracts and compliance
02How the firm works

From instruction to result.

01

Instruction & assessment

We examine the contract, the termination letter and the disciplinary record, and tell you where the claim, or the exposure, actually lies. Time limits run from the date of termination, so we say early if time is short.

02

Claim or response

A statement of claim, or an employer's response, drafted to the court's rules, with the witnesses and documents the court will need identified from the start.

03

Hearing & settlement

Many employment disputes settle once the record is clear. Where they do not, the matter is argued to judgment.
